The farmers said, “We have grown accustomed to waiting in lines for urea daily. Yet, we have not received a single bag so far, and since no action has been taken on this matter, we have no choice but to block the road.” Police who arrived at the scene attempted to persuade protesting farmers to disperse. A dispute erupted between police and the farmers, creating a tense atmosphere in the area. PSI Basavaraj Adavibavi addressed the farmers and urged them to lift the road blockade. “Blocking the state highway will be an inconvenience for travellers; I will speak with the agriculture department officials about the fertiliser distribution and work to resolve the issue,” he assured, leading to a resolution of the situation.
