Mysuru: Preparations for the Dasara festival are gathering pace, with deputy commissioner and Dasara special officer Lakshmikanth Reddy directing the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) to ensure flawless arrangements for the Dasara illumination and Drone Show, two of the main attractions this year.Chairing a preliminary review meeting at the CESC head office here on Friday, the DC stressed the need for coordinated planning among departments. He pointed out that this year’s schedule includes an Air Show at the Banni Mantap Grounds, in addition to the Drone Show and parade rehearsals. “All three events must be seamlessly managed. Hence, Sept 28 and 29 have been fixed for Drone Show trials,” Reddy said.The DC directed the Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) to oversee sound and lighting for the Drone Show, Air Show, and cultural programmes. He also urged MDA to host musical evenings and cultural events to enhance the festive atmosphere.CESC managing director KM Munigopal Raju presented illumination plans, featuring innovative designs across circles, roads, and heritage landmarks. He announced that the trial drone shows would be held on Sept 28 and 29, while the main shows are scheduled for Oct 1 and 2, to be complemented by live concerts from renowned singers.The meeting was attended by MDA commissioner KR Rakshit, CESC director (technical) DJ Divakar, superintending engineer Sunil, and general manager L Lokesh.
