Shivamogga: Days after controversy over his statement that he wished to be born a Muslim, Bhadravathi MLA BK Sangameshwara on Thursday accused BJP and JD(S) of trying to project him as anti-Hindu.He contended that his statement was misquoted and its meaning was twisted. He claimed that he expressed a desire to be born in all religions during Eid Milad, not just as a Muslim.He accused the BJP and JD(S) of distorting his words and trying to disrupt peace in Bhadravathi. He stated that he donated lakhs of rupees to temples for Hindu community festivals and that people would respond appropriately to the false propaganda. He appealed to people not to fall prey to false propaganda and said that if anyone was hurt, he was willing to apologise.The MLA also demanded strict action against those who raised pro-Pakistan slogans in Bhadravathi.
