Mangaluru: Two police personnel from Puttur Traffic police station were suspended pending inquiry after a video showing them in an altercation with an autorickshaw driver went viral.On Friday evening, autorickshaw driver Basheer from Kuriya village was driving his autorickshaw. When ASI Chidananda Rai and PC Shaila MK, who were on duty at the time, signalled him to stop using a hand gesture, he allegedly failed to stop and continued to drive at speed, thereby violating the Motor Vehicles Act.Following this, the officers chased and stopped the vehicle, after which they verbally abused and physically assaulted the driver. A video of the incident went viral. After reviewing the matter, the duo were suspended from duty pending further inquiry.
