Neurosurgeon burnt alive after car hits divider, bursts into flames in Telangana
Neurosurgeon from Khammam, died when his car collided with a road divider and caught fire

HYDERABAD: A neurosurgeon from Khammam was charred to death after the car he was driving hit a road divider and caught fire on NH-365BB near Pillalamarri in Suryapet district on Sunday morning.The accident occurred around 7.15am when Dr K Jagadeesh Babu was travelling from Khammam to Hyderabad, where his family resides.According to Khammam Rural CI G Rajashekar, police suspect that lack of sleep may have caused him to lose control of the car and hit the divider.“Soon after the car hit the divider, it caught fire and was completely gutted. Jagadeesh was charred to death,” Rajashekar said.The fire engulfed the vehicle within minutes, leaving the victim trapped inside. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and began an investigation.Since the body was badly charred, police initially had difficulty establishing the victim’s identity.He was later identified as Dr Jagadeesh Babu, head of the neurosurgery department at a private medical college and a neurosurgeon at the hospital in Khammam.He was travelling towards Hyderabad when the accident occurred. After learning about the accident, doctors from Suryapet reached the spot.The body was later shifted to Suryapet Government General Hospital for postmortem. Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident and are collecting further details.
