Haveri: The district secretary of the Youth Congress has been murdered in Haveri. The assailants abducted him from a hotel and disposed of his body in Varada River after killing him. Police have arrested three suspects, and an investigation is going on.The murder unfolded in Bommanahalli village of Hangal taluk, Haveri district, stemming from a long-standing dispute. According to a complaint filed by Prakash Udagani, victim’s father, Manoj Udugani, 28, who served as the district Youth Congress secretary, was killed by Shivraj Jalavadagi and his accomplices. The conflict originated due to the relationship between Manoj and Shivraj’s wife, Ashwini, before her marriage to Shivraj. This situation created hostility between the two men.Also a recent controversy over Ashwini’s inappropriate video escalated tensions between the men. Subsequently, Shivraj confronted Manoj multiple times and allegedly threatened to end his life on his birthday. On July 25, the perpetrators abducted the Manoj from a hotel near Lakkikoppa Cross. Following the murder, they discarded the body from a bridge into Varada River, the complaint stated.Meanwhile, fire service personnel have recovered the body. Police have apprehended four suspects in connection with the murder.
