Van rams scooter, kills painter’s son in Bengaluru | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru: A 13-year-old boy died after a speeding van rammed the scooter in which he was riding pillion along with his father and younger sister near Devanahalli Tuesday evening.The deceased is M Nandan, 13, a resident of Rayasandra Gate, Devanahalli. His father, Muniraju, and sister, M Dhanushri, are recovering in a hospital. Devanahalli traffic police are looking for the driver who fled the scene, leaving behind the van.Muniraju, a painter, said he was riding back home after picking up his two children from school when the accident occurred at 4.30pm. “Nandan and Dhanushri study in Bychapura govt school. On Tuesday evening, I was riding near Akshaya Hotel on Sulibele Road when the van collided with my scooter. My son, who fell to the right, came under the wheels of the van,” Muniraju’s complaint read. BMTC e-bus kills bikerA 22-year-old biker was crushed to death by a BMTC electric bus near TVS Cross Road in Peenya Industrial Area Tuesday evening. The victim is Devaraj, a resident of Andrahalli and native of Yadgir district. The incident happened at 7.15pm when the rashly driven bus mowed him down.Both the driver and conductor abandoned the bus at the spot and escaped. Peenya traffic police seized the bus and are trying to trace the driver. This is second incident involving a BMTC electric bus in Peenya in the last 10 days, a senior police officer said.
