Mangaluru: Two suspects have been arrested in separate long-pending cases (LPC), registered in the women’s police station of the city.In a case registered in 2011, the court had issued a warrant to P Damodar, 40, of Hoige Bazaar, who had been evading arrest for about 14 years, police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said, adding that he was arrested.In the other case — registered on March 14, 2011 — over illegal activities at a lodge, the investigation led to charges against four accused, with three being acquitted. However, the fourth accused, P Damodar, was on the run. He was located 14 years later and presented to court, which remanded him in judicial custody, the commissioner said.Meanwhile, Ubaidulla, 39, of Kankanady, who had been in hiding following the registration of a dowry harassment case in 2018, was arrested in Kannur. Ubaidulla had allegedly harassed his wife and sold her jewellery before fleeing India. He was apprehended at Kannur International Airport upon returning from abroad on Tuesday and was presented to the court.
