The doctors’ committee in its report said Patil had no health issues. Accordingly, the Supreme Court Wednesday directed Patil’s counsel to ‘file a fresh application in Jan 2026.’Patil was arrested for his alleged role in examination fraud in Nov 2023 by the criminal investigation department (CID) team, led by superintendent of police Raghavendra Hegde, under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crime (KCOCA) Act for his alleged involvement in examination fraud and recruitment scams. The govt had installed jammers around these examination centres to stop bluetooth devices from functioning. After his Nov 2023 arrest, Patil made futile attempts to secure bail from the sessions court and Karnataka high court and finally moved the Supreme Court. However, the apex court refused to hear the matter, and Patil’s counsel withdrew the petition.BOX: Involvement In KEA Exam ScamPatil allegedly got involved in the KEA exam scam when he successfully got a stay from the high court against the CID investigation into his involvement in the PSI scam, according to the chargesheet. “Patil got the court stay against the PSI investigation in April 2023 and CID got the stay vacated in Dec of the same year.
