Special court again rejects Prajwal Revanna’s bail petition in rape case

Bengaluru: A special court for elected representatives in the city on Friday rejected the bail petition of former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna in a rape case. This was Prajwal’s second bail plea in connection with the case, where he is accused of raping a 47-year-old maid. This is one among four rape cases he faces.Earlier last year, Prajwal made a futile attempt to secure bail from the special court, Karnataka high court, and then the Supreme Court. On Nov 11, 2024, the apex court dismissed Prajwal’s bail petition, stating: “The accused is powerful as well as influential and could harm the trial.”
