RABAKOVI officials served notices over milk quality, election code violations

Ballari: The deputy registrar of cooperative societies has issued notices to two RABAKOVI (Raichur, Ballari, Koppal, Vijayanagara Milk Producers Cooperative Societies Federation) officials over alleged irregularities involving poor-quality milk storage and violations of the election code of conduct.E Prakash, the collection manager and Parameshwarappa, the assistant manager from Harapanahalli, have been summoned for a hearing scheduled on Aug 8 at the union office. The notice warns that failure to appear for the hearing will result in a report being submitted for further action. The allegations against Prakash were that he caused substantial financial losses to the milk union by accepting substandard milk with 7.5 to 8.3% SNF content while falsely recording it as 8.5% SNF.Parameshwarappa is accused of election code violations and unlawful electoral activities.Following complaints lodged by former union director G Satyanarayana and others to the joint registrar of cooperative societies, Kalaburagi, the deputy registrar of Ballari was directed to investigate the matter. The accused parties were notified accordingly.The inquiry marks the beginning of an official probe into alleged irregularities by the previous RABAKOVI management board. Previous instances of misconduct within RABAKOVI were publicly reported.There were repeated complaints of milk adulteration with water in Vijayanagara area. This issue sparked heated discussions during a recent union meeting at the head office. At a retirement event, discussions about milk adulteration led to a confrontation involving a nominated member.Deputy registrar Veerabhadraiah said he was instructed by the Kalaburagi office to conduct an inquiry. “A report will be submitted and appropriate actions will follow,” he confirmed.
