Hubballi: A woman who was impregnated by her boyfriend died along with her unborn baby at HDMC Chitguppi Hospital on Thursday. Divya Salavadi, 29, a call centre worker and resident of Sheela Colony on Mantur Road, was in a relationship with Charan Anantpur, a resident of Krupa Nagar, Mantur Road. As she was seven months pregnant, she urged Charan to marry her, but he allegedly refused. Irked by his denial, she approached Bendigeri police, who insisted he marry her, and the wedding reportedly took place in a temple last week. However, Charan is said to have forced Divya to consume some tablets to induce abortion, following which she suffered heavy bleeding and died in the hospital, complained her parents. Sources in the hospital confirmed that Divya died after heavy bleeding, and that the baby was dead in the womb itself. Bendigeri police said they filed a complaint and are investigating the case.
