Min: Dakshina Kannada will be developed impartially

Mangaluru: District minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said development projects in the district will be implemented impartially, without any party bias. He was speaking after inaugurating the new building of D Devaraj Urs Bhavan and the Indira Gandhi Women’s Nursing Student Hostel, and laying the foundation for D Devaraj Urs Post-Matric Girls’ Student Hostel and Model Post-Matric Girls’ Student Hostel in Urwa Store here on Friday.The minister emphasised that all areas of the district will be equally considered for various projects and works. The ultimate goal before the govt is to uplift everyone, and efforts will be made to gain everyone’s trust, he said.The district has a large number of educational institutions, attracting students from various districts for education. There is a high demand for hostels in the district, and priority will be given to building them and creating other infrastructure for students, especially girls, the minister added.“The govt is committed to empowering girls with initiatives like free bus travel and a monthly allowance of Rs 2,000 aimed at promoting self-reliance among women,” the minister said.Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath presided. MLC Ivan D’Souza, Karnataka Cashew Development Corporation chairperson Mamatha DS Gatti, Mangaluru Urban Development Authority chairman Sadashiva Ullal, DC Darshan HV, ZP CEO Narwade Vinayak Karbhari, and others were present.
