Chikkamagaluru: A 28-year-old man allegedly killed his 52-year-old mother on Wednesday after she refused to give him money to buy alcohol in Hakkimakki village in Aldur.Pavan killed his mother, Bhavani, and reportedly slept near her partially burnt body. According to Aldur police, Pavan killed Bhavani as she refused to give him money to buy alcohol. Pavan was in an inebriated state when he allegedly killed his mother, police said.Pavan allegedly set fire to the body inside the house and slept a short distance away from it. Except for the limbs, the body was burnt. Police shifted the body to the district hospital for postmortem.Pavan, a daily wage labourer, was unmarried and living with his parents. Pavan’s house was located in a hilly area. However, no other houses were nearby, said a police officer.Aldur police visited the spot and are investigating the case.
