Lokayukta raids govt offices, find pending e-khata applications at home

Mysuru: Lokayukta police, who raided the zonal offices of Mysuru City Corporation and town panchayats following complaints of delay in issuing e-khata by property owners on Friday, found government records at a private residence in Srirampura.It is a serious lapse on the part of officials of Srirampura town panchayat. Lokayukta police seized the documents and would recommend action against the officials.Another team of Lokayukta found about 2,000 applications seeking e-khata pending at Rammanahalli town panchayat.At the time of going to press, the raid that commenced at 11 am was still under way at ten different places.Lokayukta SP TJ Udesha said that following complaints from the public and property owners about the negligence and delay on the part of officials in issuing e-khata for months, Lokayukta police planned a raid on Friday. Accordingly, ten teams launched a search at 10 govt offices-four town panchayats, one city municipal council, and five zonal offices of MCC at 11am, he stated.Lokayukta police teams found hundreds of applications pending, the SP stated.
