Kodagu SP reviews preparations for Ganesha fest in Virajpet | Mysuru News

Madikeri: Ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi, Kodagu SP Ramarajan on Tuesday reviewed the preparations in Virajpet. He participated in a meeting with the organisers of Ganeshotsava and advised them to celebrate the Ganesha festival in a traditional manner. The SP assured that the request of the auto drivers to let them ply on the city main roads until 7am on Ganeshotsava day, would be considered and appropriate arrangements would be made. He instructed officials to inspect the drain covers along the procession route and ensure proper safety measures.Traffic arrangements were discussed in detail at the meeting. Temporary diversions will be implemented during the procession, and parking zones will be designated at major points, the cops told the meeting. Police will be stationed at key junctions to manage traffic flow, they explained.The meeting also addressed waste management during the festival. Local authorities will place additional bins at strategic points, and committees must ensure proper disposal of flowers and decorative.Health officials present at the meeting outlined Covid-19 precautionary measures to be followed during the festivities. Sanitisation stations will be set up at major pandals and organisers must ensure proper ventilation in closed spaces.The CESC officials confirmed arrangements for temporary power connections at various locations. They cautioned organisers about proper electrical safety, especially if it rains.The forest department representative reminded committees about using eco-friendly materials for decorations and proper disposal of waste near water bodies. They will monitor the immersion sites to prevent water pollution.The meeting concluded with the distribution of booklets to all committee representatives.
