Bengaluru: Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) received another bomb threat via email on July 22. After thorough checking, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) declared it a hoax.According to the complaint filed by an airport official, the NOC section of Airports Authority of India received the email, from the ID nivethapethuraju_udhayanidhi@hotmail.com, at 4.16pm on July 22. The miscreant stated that “cigarette packet-looking IED blast” was looming at Bengaluru airport. “TNLA/TNRT Retrieval Group will activate IEDs in Delhi Airport, Terminal 3′. Cigarette stuffed with explosives, ignition on landing. Fake passports courtesy of AC-IS Madurai City, vicarious liability of Mr Davidson Devasrivatham MAMA (sic),” the email read.A senior officer said a case has been registered by KIA police under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
