In Dandoti village of Chittapur taluk, walls of two houses collapsed, resulting in substantial damage.The affected residences belong to Muhammad Rafeeq Rasool Saab Donga and Puthali Begum Hussain Saab Donga of Dandoti village, where the walls completely gave way. Dandoti resident Mainoddin reported that the recent persistent heavy rainfall led to the collapse of walls in these two houses in their village.The damage includes loss of household items such as cooking utensils, gas, and a refrigerator, totalling Rs 3 lakh. The villagers appealed to minister Priyank Kharge and relevant officials to facilitate govt compensation promptly.In Ingalagi village of Chittapur taluk, an ancient Chalukyan-era watch tower collapsed due to heavy rain, falling onto a house and completely damaging a parked two-wheeler. Tahsildar Nagayya Hiremath visited Ingalagi village on Friday evening amid the rainfall, offering consolation to the affected families and assuring compensation within legal parameters.Officials reportedly issued instructions to remove the remaining structure of the watch tower. The public commended the swift response of officials in Wadi taluk, especially their prompt action following news reports of incidents, and their efficient communication with relevant authorities.
