Bengaluru stampede: Police officer’s suspension revoked

Bengaluru: The state govt Thursday revoked the suspension of former additional commissioner of police (west) Vikash Kumar Vikash. He, along with former police commissioner B Dayananda and three others, had been suspended after the June 4 stampede outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium, in which 11 people were killed.The suspension of Dayananda and three other police officers was revoked Monday. Vikash has been posted as inspector-general of police (internal security division). Dayananda has been appointed additional director general of police (prison and correctional services), replacing DGP Malini Krishnamurthy, who retired from service Thursday. Former DCP (central) Shekhar Tekkananavar has been posted as superintendent of police (state intelligence).However, the two remaining officials — former assistant commissioner of police C Balakrishna and inspector Girish, attached to Cubbon Park police station — haven’t been given postings yet.
