Allot NEET PG centres close to home for female candidates: MP | Mangaluru News

Udupi: Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Kota Shrinivasa Poojary urged the Union ministry of health and family welfare to intervene and consider a special provision for female candidates writing the NEET PG exam by allotting them centres closer to their homes, wherever possible. The MP sent a request letter to Union minister for health and family welfare JP Nadda, requesting special consideration for female candidates. “I am writing this to bring to your kind attention the concerns being raised by numerous aspirants of the upcoming NEET PG examination, especially female candidates, due to the current method of city allocation for exam centres. While exam city names have been communicated, exact centres are not informed and hall tickets not distributed, causing uncertainty and anxiety. More importantly, the cities allocated are spread across various states of India—often unfamiliar and far from candidates’ places of residence,” the MP stated.“This has created serious logistical and safety challenges, particularly for female candidates, who will have to travel alone to distant locations under tight timelines. In light of these challenges, the ministry should intervene and provide multiple city preferences during centre allocation. There should be at least one city option from the candidate’s home state, and female candidates should be allotted centres closer to their homes,” he urged.“Such steps will greatly reduce the burden on candidates and support a fair and secure exam environment. Hence, the ministry should look into the matter with compassion and urgency,” he added.
