Raichur: A govt school headmaster in Gonal village, Maski taluk, was allegedly found intoxicated during school hours on Friday, causing outrage among parents and villagers. The headmaster, identified as Ningappa of Government Higher Primary School at Ambadevi Nagar, was found asleep in front of the school’s kitchen door under the influence of alcohol. The locals attempted to wake him, but were unsuccessful. Finally, his family came and escorted him home. Dharmaraj Gonal, a former gram panchayat member, said this was not the first time Ningappa reported to work in an inebriated state. Similar complaints were raised against him in the past. The incident has sparked strong reactions from parents and the public, who have condemned the misconduct of the headmaster during the school hours. They demanded the education department to suspend the headmaster.
