The event commenced with a solemn floral tribute at the tomb of the first sultan, Alauddin Hasan Bahman Shah, located in the Shahabazar area.Marking the historic day when Sultan Bahman Shah established his capital, Ahsanabad, currently called Kalaburagi, on Aug 3, 1347, the celebration honoured the rich legacy of a dynasty that ruled the Deccan for over two centuries. The Bahmani rulers are remembered for their pivotal role in shaping Indo-Islamic architecture and fostering cultural, literary, and artistic advancements in medieval India.Prominent historians, researchers, artists, and social activists gathered to discuss the Bahmani Sultanate’s enduring contributions to architecture, urban planning, and cultural heritage. Speaking on the occasion, Bahmani Foundation President Qazi Rizwan ur Rahman Siddiqui highlighted, “For the past three decades, we have been celebrating the Bahmani Empire Foundation Day with a cultural essence, aiming to revive the historical and artistic spirit of this great dynasty.”Artist Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel elaborated on the architectural brilliance of the Bahmani rulers, emphasising their creation of a unique Indo-Islamic style that later inspired the Deccan sultanates. Coin collector Mohammed Ismail showcased and explained rare coins issued during the Bahmani period, providing valuable insights into the economic and cultural history of the empire.Other enthusiasts like Qazi Hamid Faisal Siddiqui, Rizwan Qazi, Rehaman Patel, Maqsood Afzal Jagirdar, Mohammed Ismail, Jafar Khasim Ansari, Mohammad Merajuddin, Mohammed Yaseen Ashrafi, Badaruddin Qazi, and Abdullah Khan paid tribute to the Bahmani legacy.
