Raichur: A senior citizen, aged 65, is facing charges of sexual assault against a six-year-old girl. The police registered a Pocso case at the Kavithal police station in Sirwar taluk on July 30.The parents of the young girl lodged a complaint stating that an elderly resident from their village sexually assaulted their daughter, who attends class 1 at a private school in a village within the Kavithal police station jurisdiction.According to the complaint, the survivor and the accused man’s grandson attend the same school. The incident occurred when the girl visited the accused man’s residence along with his grandson. The elderly man allegedly attempted to assault the child when no other family members were present at home.The authorities detained the accused under Pocso charges and are conducting an investigation.
