2 arrested for attempt to burgle temple

Udupi: Two men from Kerala were arrested for allegedly attempting to break into the Shri Mahishamardhini Temple in Kadiyali in the early hours of Saturday. The accused, identified as Kiran JJ and Vishnu, both from Thiruvananthapuram district, were nabbed later the same day near the Kadiyali petrol bunk.According to the complaint filed by temple president Vijayaraghava, the duo approached the temple around 1 am on July 26. One of them reportedly tried to force open the door but fled with his accomplice when the security guard intervened.Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Udupi Town police station under Sections 331(4), 62, and 3(5) of the BNS Act, and an investigation was launched. Acting swiftly, a police team led by inspector Manjunath Badiger, under the guidance of SP Hariram Shankar, additional SP Sudhakar Naik, and DSP Prabhu DT, traced and arrested the accused within hours. PSI Bharatesh Kankanawadi and other staff assisted in the operation. The accused will soon be produced before a court.
